ABOUT

Art and education are two very important components of my life. When these two parts fuse together they form the foundation of my business. Renew Art is a combination of my love for making art and my love for teaching art.

Simply stated, I make art and I teach art!

Fittingly, I have my undergraduate degree in both art and education. As an art teacher I find myself engrossed in any type of art-making process when I get the chance. Some of which, include ceramics, jewelry making, printmaking, weaving, sewing, knitting, and even furniture flipping. With several years of teaching experience, I hope to provide my community with a more personalized style of art education.

As much as I adore most, if not all, forms of art-making, I am absolutely head over heels for painting and drawing. Custom art is my favorite way to create a beautifully unique piece, while simultaneously building a relationship with my clients. I have found that trust is a necessary aspect to custom art. The client must trust the artist to bring their idea to life in a respectful and honoring way. I am always humbled to create art for people, and am even more humbled to be trusted in the process of portraying what they highly regard.

Trust and building human connection are the roots of how I conduct myself as an artist and educator.

MISSION

The mission behind Renew Art is to reconnect people with a love and appreciation for creating.

It is to renew the childlike wonder we once felt for making art or losing ourselves in the process of trying something new when we were young. Whether that reconnection comes through ordering a piece of custom art, attending an art lesson/paint party, or even just following along with the monthly newsletter, my hope is that this small business will bring out the inner child in everyone who

encounters it.

VISION

When I look to the future I envision Renew Art as an art school and studio. I see a place where young people can come together and learn from mentor artists, and a place where artists can collaborate with each other. My hope and desire is that this small business will become a community for artists of all ages to come together and use their skills to make this world a better place.
